The Martex Range of Pigment Dispersions and Auxiliaries are specially designed to enable Textile
Printers ( large and small ) to produce printed fabric as economically as possible but at the same time
giving a very profesional finish to the fabric which is well received throughout the Clothing Industry
world wide. Martex Aqua Colours are aqueous dispersions of selected organic pigments. Generally they
have very good fastness properties and specific selections may be made to meet the needs in different
areas of the Industry eg Furnishings or Apparrel. Printing with Martex Aqua Colours means that the
Textile Printer does not need to use the normal wet processes such as steaming and washing involved in
printing with conventional dyestuffs. Printing with Martex Aqua Colours involves three simple steps
ie: Printing Drying Curing
Martex Emulsion TI
Martex Emulsion TI is a ready to use Textile Cut Clear suitable for printing a wide variety
of cotton and cotton / synthetic fabrics both woven and knitted. Martex Emulsion TI is designed for
use on Hand and Automatic Textile Printing Machines including flat and rotary machines. Martex Emulsion
TI is a white spirits based emulsion containing 15% Fixative NSF along with several other Auxiliaries
to give extreemely good running, handle and fastness properties. Martex Emulsion may be used as supplied
with up to 5% Martex Aqua Colour ( or 15% Martex Fluorescent Colour ). For stronger shades addition
of Fixative NSF and / or Accelerator TD is recommended. As a guide line we suggest 3 parts of Fixative
NSF for 1 part of Martex Aqua Colour . However the substrate can have a marked effect on the fastness
especially wash and crock fastness. We advise suitable testing before bulk printing of fabric. On synthetic
fabric where good fastness is required Martex Hifast Binder should be used in place of Martex Emulsion
TI. After printing the fabric should be dried and then cured by passing through a hot oven at 150*c
for 4 minutes. ( Please refer to Drying and Curing ).
Martex Hifast Binder AS
Martex Hifast Binder As is a ready to use Textile Cut Clear specially designed for use on synthetic
fabrics. Martex Aqua Colours may be added to produce any shade required. Martex Hifast Binder AS,
when fully cured, gives good all round fastness properties on most synthetic fabrics.
Martex Glitter Binder
Martex Glitter Binder is specially designed to be used in conjuction with Martex Glitter Colours to
produce print pastes with good shelf life. Print pastes are usually made up containing between 15 and
20% Martex Glitter Colour. The print pastes must be printed through an open meshed screen ( 15 mesh
). Prints produced using Martex Glitter Binder yield very bright attractive glitter effects with good
fastness properties. Printed fabric should be dried and cured at 150^c for 5 minutes.
Martex Binder G30
Martex Binder G30 is a ready to use Textile Cut Clear specially designed for use with Martex Metallic
Powders. Typical print pastes contain between 15 and 20 % Martex Metallic Powders. Martex Binder
G30 yields bright shades with good handle and fastness properties on cellulosic and cellulosic / synthetic
blends. To obtain maximum fastness the addition of up to 1% Martex Accelerator TD is recommended.
After printing the fabric should be dried and cured at 150^c for 5 minutes.
Martex Screen Clean AV
Martex Screen Clean AV has proved to be an essential cleaning solvent in the Printing Department.
Martex Screen Clean AV is designed to efficiently remove dried Print Paste build up from screens especially
Rotary Screens. After removing excess Print Paste from the screen suggested methods of using Martex
Screen Clean AV are as follows : 1.Concentrated Martex Screen Clean AV
is sponged on to the screen and left for a few minutes before washing the screen with water
from a hose or by using a Screen Washing Machine. 2. The
Rotary Screen is steeped in a bath of Martex Screen Clean AV before being washed. 3.
Martex Screen Clean AV is added to the feed watertank of Screen Washing Machine. Martex Screen
Clean AV is also useful as a cleaning solvent for cleaning off paste build up and also stains on
the Printing Machine. It will also remove many Permanent Adhesives used on Printing
Blankets. Martex Screen Clean AV forms an emulsion in water and is easily removed from all surfaces
by washing with water. Note : Martex Screen Clean AV is made from flamable solvents and due care
must be exercised wherever it is used.
